Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.

Mr. Miller's class poems

We had a lot of variations on the classic "Roses are red, violets are blue..." poem. Most of these kids wanted to remain anonymous:

Some flowers are red,
some flowers are blue.
I sure am glad
to have a mother like you.

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
How I love
to sing with you.

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
Do you like bananas?
I do, too!

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
Bees are yellow
and black, too.

Clouds are white.
The sky is blue.
Stars are bright
and so are you.

Walls are white.
Books are bright.
Fuzzy things
like to fight.

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
How can I
be like you?
